Once again we will be filling shoeboxes with lovely things for children in need in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia and Romania. Here are our plans for making things to go in them, packing the boxes and raising funds to pay the transport costs.

A big thank you from the bike and plant team. We have raised just over £1600 for Christian Aid to help people in Dagoretti, a settlement in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. There, many parents wake each morning knowing they must earn money that day and if they do not, their children may not eat that night.

We had a fabulous morning packing the shoeboxes on Saturday 1st November., and 170 shoeboxes will soon be making their way to children in Eastern Europe in time for Christmas.

These are events intended both to bless our community and to welcome visitors All events are free (except, of course, for fundraising ones). Not all events are appropriate for everyone, but everyone should find that a number are of interest to them. They also include events of both Urban Saints and (nature walks) of Friends of A Rocha.
Lynn Mynett presents a series of readings from this book of Christian prayer poems by John Hulme. She recorded these to enable more of God’s people to have the opportunity to glimpse the dynamic kind of relationship that we can all have with the Almighty, through Jesus Christ.
