Information about climate change was on display during the vigil and passers-by were given paper boats to represent the hope that humanity will rise to the moment and use this year to set sail towards a more just future.
Carol Griffiths, who gave out the paper boats, said, "I was so pleased that the young people I met seemed to be really aware of the climate issues."
